Conveyor system for leading SA manufacturer

UK-based production lines maker CI Logistics announced that it has built a trolley conveyor for South Africa's Defy Appliances, a leading manufacturer of chest freezers and refrigerators.

The new installation is designed to improve the efficiency of Defy's chest freezer production at its Ezakheni, Ladysmith factory. CI Logistics has already manufactured two overhead conveyers at Ezakheni, as well as a monorail conveyor for another of Defy's factories in Durban.

Gary Bale, managing director of CI Logistics, said the new system it had built was created to specifications in order to provide stable transport for large or unusually shaped loads. "Defy Appliances is an innovative customer and we look forward to furthering our relationship with them in the future," Bale said. Defy Appliances is Southern Africa's largest manufacturer and distributor of kitchen and laundry appliances. It is a member of the Arcelik Group, which has about 21,500 employees worldwide.
