Loeries Young Creatives winner, student judging panel announced

Twenty-five-year-old Darren Cronje has won the Loeries 2008 Young Creatives Award and, with it, an all-expenses-paid trip to the One Show in New York - and the Student Judging Panel for the Loeries was announced yesterday, Monday 1 June 2009.

Darren Cronje reckons that following his win, the sky’s the limit.

A fortnight after returning from the One Show a confident Cronje believes the sky is the limit for his career. “Winning the Loeries has definitely changed the course of my career because when you win awards in advertising, people seem to trust you more which inevitably helps in the marketplace,” says Cronje.

Currently working at The Royal Metropole as an Art Director, Cronje won his first piece of silverware while still a student at the AAA School of Advertising, a Silver Student Loerie in 2005. From there he never looked back, joining Net#work BBDO straight after graduating where he worked for four years. In 2006 he won a Loerie Grand Prix, 2 Golds and one bronze for the Lonely Finger campaign. In the same year he won a Marketing Excellence Award for the same advert.
