data lead who will play a pivotal role in professionalising their data infrastructure, blending expertise in data analysis, data science, and data engineering. You will be a key driver in unlocking the potential unique consumer transaction dataset, contributing to the mission of providing unparalleled insights to clients.
Responsibilities:- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to derive predictive models and actionable insights
- Work on feature engineering, model development, and evaluation to enhance the depth of our data-driven offerings
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the business context and align data science efforts with strategic goals
- Architect, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines for efficient data processing, analysis and customer solutions
- Optimise existing data infrastructure and propose improvements to enhance scalability and performance
- Proactively stay abreast of industry trends, emerging data sources, and evolving methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the data team
- Develop a forward-thinking system that anticipates and accommodates company growth, ensuring our data capabilities remain agile, nimble, and scalable
- Identify innovative opportunities for data-driven initiatives, contributing to the ongoing enhancement and optimisation of our data infrastructure
- Develop leading visualisation and data storytelling abilities in collaboration with subject matter experts and data analysts
Qualifications and experience: - Proven experience in data analysis, data science, and data engineering roles (3-5 years’ experience across these functions).
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with SQL and proficiency in working with relational databases.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and services like S3, Lambda, Redshift and EC2.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and statistical analysis tools.
- Previous exposure to developing and maintaining data pipelines

Cape Town offering a salary negotiable from
R500,000 to
