Lorin Bowen Business Events is a professional conference, events and exhibition organiser. I started my own business at the beginning of 2018. I have twenty years experience in tourism, hospitality and the business events space.
I started my career as a trainee chef at a renowned hotel in Fourways, Johannesburg in 1999 straight after matriculating. After 18 months in the kitchen I decided that my passion really lay in assisting people and so joined the conventions department as a coordinator. I moved my way up the ladder and eventually became the Public Relations and Marketing Manager. I have always been very involved in our industry associations and was the national vice-chairperson for SAACI (Southern African Association for the Conference Industry) before becoming the General Manager in 2012. In 2014 I joined an exhibition organising company as General Manager. In 2018 I started my own company - Lorin Bowen Business Events. I am the current chairperson for SAACI Johannesburg.
