Mozambican coal the focus of international conference in Maputo

Coal production in Mozambique may total 50 million tons in 2020, which is practically ten times current production of 4.8 million tons, according to the organisers of the 4th International Conference on Energy and Coal.

Due to be held in Maputo on 15 and 16 July, the conference, which is an initiative of the International Mining and Metals Series (IMM), will have a number of speakers, including Mozambique's Mining Resources Minister, Esperança Bias, who is expected to talk about use of Mozambique's mining resources as a launch pad for sustainable development and promotion of economic integration.
