GIBS recognised as having the best reputation among employers

The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) has been recognised as having the best reputation among employers, both as a business school and for its MBA offering, by the latest annual Financial Mail 'Ranking the MBAs' survey.

A testament to GIBS' positioning as the 'business school for business', the survey, which ranks the best business schools in South Africa, shows that GIBS is well ahead of the other schools as the "school with the overall best reputation among employers" and the "MBA with the best reputation among employers". According to the survey, GIBS also ranks as a favourite among graduates.

The survey indicates that GIBS and UCT's GSB "have opened a commanding reputational gap between themselves and their competitors", and goes on to note that "GIBS has enjoyed a stellar rise since its launch just over a decade ago. Under Dean Nick Binedell, it has grown into arguably SA's biggest school".

According to Professor Nick Binedell, Dean of GIBS, GIBS' ranking in the survey "is a testament both to the quality of our academic offering and the calibre of our alumni and current students. It is worth highlighting that the survey also recognises that our student body comprises 32.6% women - the highest among the internationally accredited MBA programmes in South Africa."

The latest recognition of GIBS' academic offering by the Financial Mail, along with its excellent standing in the Financial Times' rankings - both for executive education and for GIBS' executive MBA programme - continues to reinforce the stature of GIBS within the broader business community.

"As a young business school we have built a commanding presence within a relatively short period of time and these results once again entrench the GIBS brand as a leading business school, both in South Africa and globally. I remain absolutely confident that our offering remains world-class and that the stature of GIBS is something of which we can all be rightfully proud", concludes Binedell.
