Windom and Slade to attend South Africa Music and Entertainment Symposium

Valiant Innovative Creations and its US-based partner, Stratica Group, are to host award-winning music executives Amir Windom and Maurice Slade for a pre-symposium workshop and industry meet and greet on 27 March, 2014, at the World of Yamaha Johannesburg.

The full 2014 South Africa Music and Entertainment Symposium will feature two action-packed days of music and entertainment panel discussions, workshops and Q&A with two of the US' leading music executives. Included in the programme are networking events, A&R showcase and one-on-one sessions.

This first workshop event is aimed at empowering established and aspiring South African DJs, agents, songwriters, musicians, producers, managers, publicists, promoters and radio executives with a platform to engage one on one with world-class expertise.

Windom and Slade will lead a two-hour workshop: "Building Your Personal Brand: Beyond the Mike", exposing participants to some of the winning strategies of establishing successful and sustainable careers in the music and entertainment industry, and building revenue streams beyond the traditional.

Amir Windom has held executive and management positions at record labels such as Atlantic Records, Def Jam Records and Bad Boy Records. He has assisted in developing and managing careers of some of today's biggest stars, such as: the American Indie-pop band Fun, T.I., Bruno Mars, Lupe Fiasco, B.o.B, Estelle, Trey Songz and Kanye West. To date, Windom has worked on numerous Grammy Award-winning albums that have earned Gold and Platinum status.

Windom is also a television and film music supervisor and has helped create music, scores and creative strategies for major film companies, such as Sony Pictures and LionsGate Films, and movies such as Despicable Me 2, Takers, SWAT 2, Steve Harvey's Think Like A Man-Act Like A Lady, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too, and Stomp The Yard 2. Windom has also assisted in the creation of global marketing campaigns for brands such as Kodak, Adidas, Coca- Cola and ESPN.

Maurice Slade's career started with a taste of the music business working with megastar Beyonce Knowles and Destiny's Child. He is now creative branding & digital marketing manager of Jay-Z's conglomerate RocNation and RocNation Sports. Slade is one of the leading creative minds in developing marketing and branding strategies across all RocNation brands. He's helped create some of the most globally recognisable brands in music and sports, including: Jay-Z, Kevin Durant (NBA), Rihanna, Robinson Cano (MLB), Shakira, J-Cole Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Kid Cudi. He's worked on numerous Grammy Award-winning albums that have garnered Gold and Platinum RIAA achievement.
