The shopping centre has a great tenant mix for the city shopper. The anchor tenant, a 2,000m² family Pick n Pay will be complemented by popular local and international fashion brands, including Spitz, Earthchild, Rage, Solo shoes, Daniel J and Ma Gents. Additionally, a provision for a Nedbank loan centre and Capitec Bank has been made in order to accommodate financial services. For those who need a quick bite, KFC offers the usual favourites.
The revamp was not limited to the ground-floor retail of this building. Eight storeys of offices above the retail level were upgraded, attracting government leases. The adjacent building, City Centre, which comprises seven floors of office space, received a full internal upgrade between October 2009 and September 2010. City Property furthermore transformed the unused first floor into much-needed parking.
According to City Property's project manager, Ken Lalor, Blackwood Architects' brief was to bring these rundown retail areas and offices into the 21st century.
