SETE 2014 will once again aim to showcase South Africa, and its neighbours on the continent, as an attractive destination in which to host international sporting events however large or small. A number of significant exhibitors such as South African Airways, South African Gymnastics Federation, Prince's Grant, and Pestana Hotels have confirmed their participation in the event recognising the benefits for their organisations of growing the country's sports tourism industry.

"We are delighted to be involved in the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange again." commented Tubby Reddy, chief executive of SASCOC. "It is of paramount importance that government, private sector and sporting bodies come together to support the growth on our continent of sporting events. We have the infrastructure, we have the know-how and we have the will. SETE is a perfect platform in which we can debate, discuss and plan for future events."

SASCOC is South Africa's national multi-coded sporting body responsible for the preparation, presentation and performance of teams to all multi-coded events, namely the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Games, All Africa Games, Olympic Youth Games, Commonwealth Youth Games and Zone VI Games.

SASCOC will not only be hosting various Sport Federations on the SASCOC Pavilion at the Sports and Events Tourism Exchange Exhibition but will also be part of the Conference talking about their Priorities in supporting Bids for Multi-Sport Events.

"It is exciting that SASCOC has committed its support again for our event. Thebe Reed Exhibitions is committed to the ongoing opportunities we have in our country to host events and to encourage visitors from around the globe to visit and take advantage of our facilities, our diverse cultural experiences and our expertise. SASCOC is a key partner when it comes to bidding and hosting international events. Its support demonstrates the government's commitment to growing the sports and events tourism industry in South Africa. We are again expecting a really informative and exciting conference and exhibition this year and we encourage all interested parties to contact us to get involved" said Sugen Pillay, commercial director of Thebe Reed Exhibitions, the event organiser.

The Sports and Events Tourism Exchange is hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism, partnered by CATHSSETA, SASCOC, Tourism KZN and Durban Tourism, South African Airways, Tsogo Sun and supported by Durban KZN Convention Bureau and the exclusive broadcasting partner SABC.
