Osiris gives Christmas dreams to kids

“It is appropriate that at this time of year, a time of giving, that we thank Osiris Trading, an e-commerce marketing company, who helped more than 60 kids from the oncology and renal wards at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, experience the joy and excitement of Christmas,” says Sian Gutstadt, national marketing and advertising co-ordinator at the Reach for a Dream Foundation.

“Adding to the festivity and excitement was well-known actress Hlubi Mboya, friend of the Foundation, Jabulani, a hospital care clown and Santa Clause who handed out gifts to each child.”

She says that it is only through the generosity of individuals, organisations and companies that the Foundation is able to realise its goal of bringing a little happiness into the lives of children suffering from life threatening illnesses.

Gutstadt says the relationship between Osiris Trading and the Reach for a Dream Foundation began in February this year, when the company first sponsored a dream for a child. Since then, the ties between the two have grown stronger, with the company getting more involved in the Foundation's activities.

“With corporate social responsibility an imperative from both a business as well as a moral point of view, the primary reason for our involvement with Reach For A Dream is to support a charity that makes a real and visible difference to people's lives,” says Phillip Moolman, HR manager at Osiris Trading.

“Our Christmas parties are only part of the many activities hosted by our Foundation to reach out to so many children who are confined to hospital beds for weeks at a time and help make their stay - and their lives - a little easier,” concludes Gutstadt.
