No decision as yet on Times arrests

NEWSWATCH: The Cape Town police have been instructed to investigate further into the case against Sunday Times editor Mondli Makhanya and senior journalist Jocelyn Maker relating to the alleged theft of health minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang's medical records, reports IOL, quoting National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Tlali Tlali as saying, "No decision has been made to arrest, no decision has been made to prosecute."

Johnnic Communications (Johncom) announced late last week that it has entered into negotiations with potential black shareholders, reports Business Day and Business Report. Industry speculation has it that these partners may be businessmen Tokyo Sexwale and Cyril Ramaphosa.

Also last week, The Star launched the annual Dave and Ethel Hazelhurst scholarship which will allow a young graduate to study a BA (Honours) degree in journalism at the Wits School of Journalism and, upon successful completion, work at The Star as an intern, writes IOL.
