New One Show Entertainment calls for entries

Deadline for entries for the inaugural One Show Entertainment is 15 August 2008. This new awards competition seeks to recognises the marriage between brands and entertainment—in film, television, music, gaming, anywhere—and award innovation and creativity in this rapidly expanding area.

From Honda's “Last Comic Driving” on NBC to the groundbreaking Xbox Halo 3 “Believe” documentary, the entertainment and marketing worlds are colliding and providing new avenues to reach consumers.

The first One Show Entertainment ceremony will be held 7 October at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, California. This launch signals the first time any part of the One Show has been held outside New York. Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils will be awarded for the best branded entertainment created during the past year.

Entries will be judged by an all-star panel of marketing and entertainment luminaries including:

  • Brett Ratner, director of “X-Men: The Last Stand”
  • David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer, BBDO North America
  • Jon Kamen, chairman and CEO, @radical.media
  • David Droga, creative chairman of Droga5
  • Scott Donaton, publisher of Entertainment Weekly
  • Neil Stiles, president and publisher of Variety
