HOMEMAKERS served their 67 minutes!
The international Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July got us all reaching deep into our hearts to revisit the values that Mandela shared: democracy, freedom, equality, diversity, reconciliation, and respect.
Nelson Mandela Day not only celebrates Nelson Mandela's life, but it is also a global call-to-action for people to recognise their ability to have a positive effect on others around them.
HOMEMAKERS salute what this day stands for and we embraced it by paying it forward to a home for the elderly close to the HOMEMAKERS' Johannesburg offices, Reuven Retirement Home in Turffontein. Each staff member brought non-perishable nutritional items and treats and we packed 300 parcels and handed them out in a 67-minute challenge to each resident. What a heart-warming experience their appreciation was, not only for the small gift but the opportunity for a chat.
