Heart 104.9 rings in the new year with line-up changes

In keeping with our commitment to always enhancing and improving our product, Heart 104.9 steps into the new year with a refreshed morning Hearty Breakfast Show and new line-up.
The Hearty Breakfast show, 6am to 9am, has a new host. Popular drive time jock, Lee Downs will be taking over the breakfast bowl from Saskia Falken. Joining him will be traffic anchor Marguerita Freeks. While raunchy Nick Feinberg and delightful Leanne Arendse continue as Sports and News anchors respectively.

Says Gavin Meiring, Heart 104.9 MD: “At Heart 104.9, we know what our listeners want and have modified the line up accordingly. Much research has gone into the change and Lee Downs fits the role to start your day with Heart.”

Sassy Saskia Falken moves to the popular workzone slot from 9am to 12pm, Mondays to Fridays. In her new lifestyle-based show, Saskia will be making connections across the city in a way that is reflective of Cape Town and all its people.

Dynamic Koketso Sachane remains in his Monday to Friday, 12pm to 3pm slot, where he’ll continue to wow listeners with his witty commentary. You can still look forward to quirky and sharp banter between Koketso and “The Beautiful Game” and “Inside the Premier League” host, Nick Feinberg.

Endearing and cuddly Stan Mars will now be accompanying Capetonians in peak afternoon traffic in the Big Drive Home, weekdays from 3pm to 6pm. His regular feature “Big Stan’s Big Favour” moves right along with him. Joining Big Stan for the ride will be chic traffic anchor and co-host Julian Naidoo, with Sports and News Anchors, Peter Stemmet and Zulpha Khan.

Oh yeah!-
Congratulations Heart! You are definitely giving Good Hope FM a run for their money. Keep it up and you will knock KFM from the top spot as well. A lot of radio stations "kan kers opsteek by julle". Saskia was actually not too bad at the breakfast bowl. I actually quite enjoyed listening to her. She wasn't vulgar or rude or tried to be someone she's not, she was her sassy old self. I like that and i'm sure many of the Hearty Breakfast listeners will agree. Once again, well done Heart!!!

I am sooo delighted to hear about the changes to the breakfast show. What can I say, I like my coffee dark and strong first thing in the morning : just like my dj's. Nothing against u Saskia - but ur just not early morning show material. I need someone who is gonna kick-start my day and Lee ur just what the doctor ordered. YOU GO BOY!!
