Mystery of Stonehenge solved

For years people have pondered the origin of the megalithic ruin known as Stonehenge, which stands on Salisbury Plain just west of the town of Amesbury in Wiltshire, England.

Thanks to Draftfcb Durban, the mystery has finally been solved - well, at least part of it: whoever put the stones there didn't have to drag them from a quarry miles and miles away, they simply built them out of Corobrik and plastered them using an 'aging' technique!

Seriously, developed by the agency's creative team of Craig George and Tony Purnell, the ad has been running in architecture magazines. It is intended to show how long a structure built from Corobrik bricks will last by linking it to one of the oldest known constructions. Archaeologists believe that the iconic stone monument was erected around 2500 BC.

Corobrik was established in Durban in 1902 and today has 14 factories in South Africa. The company employs over 2000 people countrywide and has the largest distribution network in the country. It sells its products throughout South Africa, including through 28 Corobrik Sales Centres, and also sells bricks to many other countries on the continent. It is one of Draftfcb Durban's longest standing clients.
