Cannes wins for Draftfcb South Africa

Draftfcb South Africa came back from the French Rivera this week with one Silver Lion in the Radio Campaign category and a draft of finalists across the board.

The lauded radio campaign was for SC Johnson's Raid® Mosquito Killer. This is the second year that work on this brand has received a big ‘thumbs up' at the Cannes Advertising Festival. Last year, Draftfcb Johannesburg started the awards ball rolling for South Africa at Festival when it won Gold Lion in the Direct Mail category.

Finalists achieved by the agency this year included, for Radio, SC Johnson Raid® ‘Casino' and Toyota Corolla ‘Chase'; for Television, Ramrod/Maglite ‘Dark side of the Moon', and for Outdoor, Sonovision Studios ‘Cavalry' and ‘War of the Clouds'. Draftfcb Cape Town also achieved finalist status for Distell's Savanna Cider radio ad ‘Backdoor'.

The agency group consistently returns from Cannes with several awards under its belt however its most stellar performance was in 2006 when Draftfcb Johannesburg scooped a Cannes Grand Prix in the Press category for a print and poster commercial it developed for Lego, ‘Periscope'.
