It's back-to-school time with Gagasi FM

Gagasi FM's annual back-to-school CSI campaign, Geleza neGagasi, is back. Each year the station sets aside R120,000 to assist deserving learners and students, particularly those that come from disadvantaged communities. At the beginning of the year Gagasi FM called on learners who require assistance with paying for their school fees, uniforms and stationery as well as tertiary students who require assistance with money for this year's registration, to submit their applications to the station. Applications can still be sent until Friday, 16 January 2014, submission details are available on the Gagasi FM website, www.gagasiradio.fm.

On Tuesday, 20 January 2014, the station will host a hand-over ceremony in Durban for all learners and students that would be selected to benefit from the campaign. The selection process has already started with the applicants that have been selected thus being announced daily on I Love Mornings and Teatime to Lunchtime for learners as well as on The Big Bang and Afternoon Show Off for students.

The station's flagship campaign is targeted at well performing learners and students who are coming from underprivileged and disadvantaged family backgrounds. Listeners are encouraged to send their academic report from 2014, along with a motivational letter telling Gagasi why they need assistance. Applicants can enter on www.gagasiradio.fm or via email to az.oc.599isagag@loohcs for primary and high school learners. Matriculants and tertiary students can send applications to az.oc.599isagag@yraitret.

"Education is indeed the key to success. It gives us knowledge of the world around us, while opening doors to brilliant career opportunities. Geleza neGagasi is one of longest serving CSI campaigns and has really grown over the years when you look at the impact in terms of learners and students we have been able to support each year. As Gagasi FM we understand the importance of education in nation-building and through this campaign, we are able to contribute positively towards the future and success of our children. We wish our KZN learners and students all the best for the 2015 academic year," says Gagasi FM Marketing Manager, Zippy Ndokweni.

The hand-over ceremony will also be attended by some of the Gagasi FM presenters, like Mzokoloko and DJ Sox who will give a motivational talk to learners and students as well as a science show by the KZN Science Centre. Geleza neGagasi - Encouraging learning and rewarding excellence.
