Electric Mansion has been three years in the making and brought elements of Ibiza, Amsterdam, Mykonos and London to the heart of Gauteng. Sound Stylists provided all technical support, including the lighting and sound; and Starburst was responsible for amazing pyrotechnic displays to wow the crowds.
Says Stuart Fraser, Event Manager for Off the Wall Event Design and Management and organisers of the party: "Utilising Gallagher as a venue was our first choice, as it is the only upmarket venue in South Africa with the necessary facilities and halls large enough to meet our specific requirements. There was a rotating DJ box, with DJ's at the turntables all night, a performance stage, VIP areas and special areas for platinum ticket holders."
The line-up of DJ's included international names like Sander van Doorn, Marco V and First State. "Feedback we received from party goers who attended the event was hugely positive, with many stating that it was the best production yet to come to South Africa. Sander van Doorn was by far the most popular DJ, with Marco V also doing well. We aimed to have the biggest club in the world for the one night and had in excess of 3 500 attendees," explains Fraser.
Says Adolf Venter, Chief Executive of Gallagher Convention Centre: "A venue cannot be all business, without leisure. After hosting various large business-to-business exhibitions and events during 2010, with a few entertainment and lifestyle exhibitions, it was exciting to convert Gallagher into a club for one night. We hope that we will see more such events in future."
