The Awards ceremony, hosted by the Public Relations Consultancy Chapter of the Public Relations Institute of South Africa (PRISA), was celebrated with a gala dinner at Gallagher, where the panel of judges, consisting of senior professionals in the industry, revealed their choices. The Awards, aimed at recognising communication and public relations professionals who have effectively incorporated creativity, strategy and professionalism into public relations and communication campaigns, received a record breaking number of entries this year, making the judges' task complex.
The ceremony has always been a highlight in the public relations and communication industry's diary and this year's event was no different. The master of ceremony was Elvis Presslin, a well known radio presenter. An address was made by Jerry Mpufane, Managing Director of Draftfcb Johannesburg, who talked the guests through five tips towards effective public relations.
