RAB launches new siteThe Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) South Africa recently launched its new website with the twin aims of engaging the industry interactively and marketing radio in South Africa. The organisation's GM Norman Gibson says the site is a reflection of its previously stated aim of collaborating with the industry across the media, creative and client spheres. “Ongoing engagement and a continued conversation with advertisers and marketers, media planners, strategists, creative experts and key industry bodies are critical to the success of the RAB. “In line with this, our strategic planning session earlier this year yielded a number of interesting results, including the need to collaborate across the variety of disciplines that make up the local media and marketing industry,” reports Gibson. The web site is designed to bring the industry together in a dynamic, interactive environment. As such, it is host to a variety of features including: Primary goalLooking ahead Gibson says: “The RAB South Africa's primary goal is to market the medium of radio to both clients and advertising agencies and, in so doing, create a culture of favourability towards the medium and move radio higher up the advertising agenda. “We aim to achieve this by providing the advertising industry with useful information (including case studies, research, radio planning information etc), constant communication and various education and training initiatives. These are aimed at keeping the industry up to speed with the latest developments and key trends in radio.
