T Show supplier partnership alive and well

The T Show, which was hosted in Tshwane, attracted a wide range of exhibitors ranging from furniture to technology and live stock. This was the first year that the show was hosted under its new brand (T Show) and is a new platform on which to build future success.

Hanlie Delport, Project manager for the show says: "Against the background of challenges such as launching a new brand, recessionary trends and the fact that we hosted the show during countrywide strikes, we remained positive and are satisfied with the outcome. Our longstanding partnership with Oasys Innovations as a key supplier for the show infrastructure, has certainly helped us to position our exhibitors in a professional manner to facilitate their offerings to the many visitors."

Carl Woodland, Chief Operating Officer for Oasys Exhibitions comments: "A show of this magnitude requires long term planning and we started with building the infrastructure two weeks ahead of the show. We installed 25,000m² of carpet tiles, 6,000m² of shell scheme packages, as well as 150 linear meters of chipboard walling for the art displays. In addition we provided all the electrical installations, including new venue lights."

Woodland says that the company was also contracted to install emergency lighting as a consequence of the unfortunate incidence of a fire at the show grounds last year. Tons of furniture had to be transported to accommodate the requests from exhibitors, while infrastructure had to be supplied for the much frequented media centre and the ABSA VIP lounge.

Delport concludes: "In consultation with Oasys we designed and brought in new features such as 'Deli' and 'Green' areas and a 'Beauty' zone. The construction of a 300m² agricultural pavilion for the Department of Agriculture proved to have been a sound investment."
